Voters' criticism is not only directed at Ruginienė: Government ratings speak for themselves

Almost three-quarters of the country's population disapprove of the current government's performance, according to the latest poll conducted by the public opinion and market research company Spinter Tyrimai on behalf of Delfi.

According to a survey conducted on November 17–28, 73.5% of respondents have an unfavourable opinion of the Cabinet of Ministers led by Inga Ruginienė.
39.5% of survey participants indicated that they view the government's work negatively – 8 percentage points more than in October, when 31.4% held this view. At that time, 34% of respondents had an unfavourable opinion of the Cabinet's performance (compared to 35.7% in October).
At the same time, 0.7% of respondents rated Ruginienė Government was rated somewhat positively by 14% of respondents (compared to 18.6% in October), while it was rated positively by 2.6% (compared to 2.6% in October). Another 11.8% of respondents did not know or did not answer the question.
Fewer residents name Ruginienė as the most suitable candidate for the position of prime minister
When asked who, in the opinion of residents, would be the most suitable candidate for the position of prime minister, former Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė continues to receive the most support. 13.4% of respondents said that the conservative politician would be the most suitable head of government (14.9% said so in October).
In second place in the ratings is another former prime minister, Saulius Skvernelis, leader of the Democratic Union Vardan Lietuvos. In November, 9.2% of respondents wanted to see the former Speaker of the Seimas in the post of head of government (in October, this figure was 7.9%).
Six percent of respondents said they believed that Remigijus Žemaitaitis, leader of the Nemuno Aušra party, would be the most suitable candidate for prime minister (4.1% in October), and 5.2% of respondents thought that Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen, chair of the Liberal Movement, would be the most suitable candidate for this position (4.4% in October).
While the ratings of other politicians remained within the margin of error, the number of respondents who named Ruginienė as the most suitable prime minister decreased by 3.5 percentage points over the past month. In November, 4.5% of respondents named the current head of government as the politician best suited for the position, down from 8% in October.
Three percent of respondents named Aurelijus Veryga, leader of the ruling Peasants Party, as the most suitable candidate for prime minister (1.9% in October), while 2.4% named MEP Virginijus Sinkevičius (1.6% in October). Kaunas Mayor Visvaldas Matijošaitis was named by 2.2% (3.1% in October), Conservative Party leader Laurynas Kasčiūnas – 2% (2.4% in October), Social Democratic Party leader Mindaugas Sinkevičius – 1.5% (1.7% in October).

During the survey, residents were also asked which party or political movement they would vote for if parliamentary elections were held next Sunday.

According to the November poll, the opposition Homeland Union-Lithuanian Christian Democrats (TS-LKD) would receive the most support, with 13.7% of respondents intending to vote for them. In October, this figure was 14.5%.
At the same time, slightly fewer respondents are considering voting for the ruling Social Democrats. In November, 9% of the population said they would vote for the party led by Sinkevičius, which is 3.6 percentage points less than in October, when 12.6% of survey participants held this position.
In third place is the Democratic Union Vardan Lietuvos. Support for this political force is within the margin of error: in November, 8.2% of respondents would have supported the party led by Skvernelis (in October, 8.9%).
Next came the Lithuanian Peasants and Greens Union (LVŽS). In November, this political force would have received 7% of survey participants' support (6.4% in October).
The Liberal Movement led by Čmilytė-Nielsen would have been supported by 5.7% of respondents (5.6% in October), Žemaitaitis' Nemuno Aušra – 5.4% (5.6% in October), the Freedom Party would have received 4% (3.8% in October), and the National Union would have received 2.5% (2% in October).
7.5% of respondents said they would vote for other political forces.
Another 24% said they did not know or did not answer the question.
Meanwhile, 13% of respondents said they would not participate in the elections at all.
The public opinion poll was conducted by the public opinion and market research company Spinter Tyrimai on behalf of Delfi between November 17 and 28.
Residents aged 18 to 75 participated in the survey. A combined survey method was used: telephone interviews and online surveys.
The margin of error for the survey results is 3.1%.
