Decorations evoke positive emotions
Andrius Lickan, Head of Visagino Linija, says: „We are a socially responsible company, so it makes sense to implement collaborative projects with the community that encourage positive change. Visiting doctors is often stressful for children, so we are committed to making the premises more welcoming and friendly for young patients. We hope that the decorations created and crafted by the Visagino Linija artisans will help children distract their thoughts, find activities, and not dwell on the upcoming procedures while also bringing more positive emotions“.
It is the second joint project between the company and the city clinic aimed at helping children reduce stress during doctor visits. Four years ago, Visagino Linija artist Marius Jonutis and Visaginas primary school pupils gifted 30 drawings of children's favourite heroes to the clinic, decorating the children's reception areas.
Children will be able to „try out“ the medical profession
Monika Kupstienė, Head of the Visaginas Primary Health Care Center, continues: „We are delighted that the business is an active member of the city community, invested in value-creating projects, and implements meaningful initiatives. These decorations created by the artisans of Visagino Linija, which have made the facility's spaces more playful and appealing to children, will help them feel calm and safe in an environment that engages them in activities: playing, exploring, reading rather than waiting and worrying. In implementing the Miško Poliklinika (the Forest Clinic) project, the space was not only furnished with children's furniture. Volunteers also painted animal drawings on the office walls“.
The children's waiting area at Visaginas Primary Health Care Center has been adorned with tree-shaped bookshelves created by artisans from the SBA company Visagino Linija. Additionally, a corner with specially crafted children's furniture has been set up, where young patients can „try out“ the profession of a doctor. Here, they can, for example, welcome their parents for a visit, measure their height and temperature, have their vision checked, get an x-ray, etc.
Carpentry work by Visaginas Linija
Andrey Moskvitin, a carpenter at Visagino Linija, created the children's furniture and the tree bookshelves.
Moskvitin, a carpenter at Visaginas Linija, shares his thoughts: „It's important that I work for a company so dedicated to community and meaningful work. So, I often devote my time and skills to the cause. I designed and made the bookshelf tree in about a month and the children's furniture around the same time. I always remember that my creations will give children positive emotions, help them forget their ailments and help them develop their creativity. Knowing this, I take on similar projects and find meaning in doing so“.
In addition to the latter, Andrey Moskvitin has created bookhouses, which Visagino Linija donated to the city of Visaginas. Andrey also designed children's furniture for educational institutions. All of these community projects are part of the SBA Volunteering Wave. This initiative is being implemented in all SBA Group companies and is designed to introduce employees to the various volunteering activities to which they can devote their time. The SBA Volunteering Wave has been recognised as Lithuania's best internal communication project at the PR Impact competition and Europe at the European Excellence Awards.
