It will be the company’s second public park in this project. The first park, developed as part of Sakai’s first phase on the bank of the Neris River, is scheduled to be completed by the end of the year.
Over 2 hectares will be equipped with sports and leisure facilities, children’s playgrounds, a recreation area with hammocks and barbecues, walking and cycling paths, and a central square featuring a fountain and a commercial service area.
„By developing Sakai, we aim to create convenient and accessible public infrastructure and leisure spaces, open to both local communities and all residents of Vilnius.

From the outset of the project, we planned to dedicate a significant portion of the site to public use, including green spaces and service facilities. We estimate that approximately half of the entire project area will be dedicated to this purpose,“ says Mykolas Čiplys, Head of Sales and Rental at Darnu Group.
Exceptional landscaping solutions and public infrastructure
The space near K. Jelskio Street will be developed as part of the Forest Villas phase of the Sakai neighbourhood. Covering almost 0.8 hectares, the park is designed for enjoying nature and exploring different green areas.
Čiplys says the park will be a place for both children and adults to relax and enjoy active leisure. The park will focus on active leisure, recreation, educational activities, and natural play areas.
Giant boulders discovered during construction will become a key feature, seamlessly integrated into the park and its landscape.
The park will feature nesting boxes and watering stations for local birds. The public space will also be notable for its landscaping solutions. In the northern, more open section of the park, shrub barriers and perennial flower beds will define the spatial boundaries.
In the southern part of the site, the landscape will gradually transition to a more natural setting, blending with the surrounding greenery and local vegetation.
Construction is gaining momentum in the emerging Sakai neighbourhood, which spans over 8 hectares. The rapidly developing River Homes and Forest Villas phases will soon be connected by K. Jelskio Street, which is currently being reconstructed by Darnu Group and adapted for cars, pedestrians, and cyclists. The company is investing approximately EUR 2.6 million in these street upgrades.
A total of 1 km of the street is planned for renovation. The project will include more than 1.7 km of pedestrian paths on both sides of the street, nearly 400 m of bicycle paths, and street lighting. The pedestrian and bicycle paths will extend all the way to the bridge over the Neris River, planned by Vilnius City Municipality.
In total, the company plans to build around 600 apartments and 900 sqm of commercial space, improve the Neris embankment, and create the necessary service infrastructure along with quality green spaces accessible not only to new residents but to all inhabitants of Vilnius.
