„The Belarusian military activity observed these days, as reported by the monitoring group Belaruski Gayun, can be linked to the publicly announced check of the combat and mobilisation readiness of the military forces.

Belarus conducts routine combat training of its military forces, divided into cycles of varying activity. The most intensive combat training is underway, with Belarusian troops also being monitored along the Lithuanian border. Increased activity is observed at all major training ranges in Belarus.

Increased activity is also observed in the airspace. Several reservists have also been called to join the Belarusian troops participating in the exercise.

Belarus announced that it is also responding to the national and NATO exercises in Lithuania and the region with this force check. Military intelligence is constantly monitoring and assessing the situation. There is no cause for concern,“ the Ministry of Defence said.

The Belarusian army moved an incomplete mechanised battalion reinforced by a tank company to the Ašmena region, which borders Lithuania, during the night from Wednesday to Thursday, the military monitoring group Belaruski Gayun reported.

The report noted that the train consisted of 4 passenger wagons carrying soldiers, three covered wagons with ammunition and equipment, and 39 flat wagons carrying tanks, armoured vehicles, and other military equipment.

According to the Belarusian Railways Community website, 24 BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicles, 9 T-72B tanks, and other flat wagons transported engineering and other military equipment to the Lithuanian border.
