According to the survey data, 47 per cent of respondents viewed the change in the head of government positively, with 11 per cent very positively, and 36 per cent somewhat positively.
30% of those surveyed viewed this decision negatively, whilst a quarter had no opinion or did not respond.
Social Democrat voters were the most favourable towards the changes – 71 per cent. Meanwhile, Nemuno Aušra voters were the most dissatisfied with the change in prime minister – 42 per cent viewed the LSDP’s decision negatively.

Voters from other parties also tended to view the changes more positively than negatively.
Baltijos Tyrimai, a joint Lithuanian and British market and public opinion research company, surveyed between 21 and 31 July. A total of 1,002 Lithuanian residents (aged 18 and over) were interviewed in person at their homes; the survey was carried out at 108 sampling points.
The margin of error for a sample of this size does not exceed 3.1 percentage points at 95 per cent confidence.
ELTA notes that a new government was sworn in in mid-July this year. Following the change of government, former Prime Minister Ruginienė returned to head the Ministry of Social Security and Labour, whilst the post of prime minister was entrusted to the former mayor of Jonava, Sinkevičius.
